DTAC Breeze

Passionate to Ace It
Interviewed by: Saleh Abdullah Alkhamyasi
DTM Harish Bilgi- Education Chair
DTAC 2014 education committee chair DTM Harish Biligi and his team are rolling their sleeves and in full swing racing the days to provide a wow experience for our DTAC participants and guests. “DTAC breeze”, a segment of  our  DTAC communication campaign  caught a hold of him in the midst of his marathon to meet so many deadlines.  With his usual assuring smile he paused to share with us glimpses of the preparation in stored for our DTAC visitors & participants. Our conversation proceeded in the following lines:
The theme “Excelling Together”?
The theme of our DTAC 2014 is a logical extension of the noble mission of the Toastmasters club which talks about mutually supportive and positive learning environment wherein we are embarking a journey together on the path of excellence and no one is left behind. A DTAC Visitor will ‘relish’ this theme as it will be coupled with endearing hospitality of this enchanting land of Oman. Golden sands of Al Bustan hotel’s private beach, vivid hues of blue colors of Arabian seas, grandeur of majestic structure of the venue, balmy sea breeze, enlightening education sessions and workshops, closely fought contests everything put “together” will make us excel together.

What sets DTAC 2014’s education experience apart?
It will be a perfect blend of East-West cuisine which will be spiced with local condiments. Let me elaborate. We will be hosting Ms. Judy Cater from Western part of the globe i.e. US and she will be complemented by TM Kingie Biddle coming all the way from Maoris plains (New Zealand) in East. It is a wonderful combo treat for our delegates, as Judy carter is known for her trade mark inspiring and belly-laughing keynotes while TM Kingie is humor personified. Therefore it will be a laugh riot in Bustan. Just to highlight further, TM Kingie Biddle is the guy who showed us how to make use of “the sitting place” during 2013 world championships and afterwards he walked with runner up trophy. Apart from these two visiting speakers; we will be having workshops and educational sessions both in English and in Arabic language by our own experts from District 20.
Having attended quite a few DTACs in the past, I have never come across such a sumptuous spread of educational sessions; hence this spread sets DTAC 2014 apart.
What impression do you want the DTAC 2014 visitors leave with?
Way back in 2002 we had organized a similar event in the same venue (though it was not called DTAC then), even after a decade the memories of that event still lingers in the minds of many like the soothing fragrance of Omani bukhoor.
We, the Organizing Team of DTAC 2014 would like to leave similar everlasting indelible impressions in the minds of our delegates. Impressions of quality contests, objective judgments, enriching educational sessions, inspiring key note address, crisp and concise award ceremonies, sumptuous gourmets, electrifying opening ceremony, Gala dinner party and above all ever smiling Omani hospitality showered by all Oman’s toastmasters family.

Even if the delegates “leave” us, DTAC 2014 will continue to “live” in their hearts forever.

A word to conclude!
Be there, let us excel together. Allow us to impress you with our hospitality so much so that when asked about the DTAC 2014, you will say O-Man!! You rocked.
